As you can probably tell we have only been showing for a short while so I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few people.
David James
Our first thank is to David without whose advice we may never have shown.
Puddletown
The most amazing people we met at Puddletown who made us so very welcome the first time we went to enquire about rabbits.Harry of Yenalo Stud
Our biggest thank you must go to Harry who set us up with our first Black Mini Rex and then went on to ease us into the show circle, continually helping and advising us and then setting up our stud of black minis we will be forever in your debt Harry.
The list is endless these are just a few names that mean a lot to us.

Since starting to show we have come a long way. Not only learning about the fancy but also changing breeds. We actually fell into the trap of keeping to many breeds because we liked them all. This was a huge mistake and to anyone just starting off do not do it. Honestly you get lots of half decent rabbits one heck of a feed bill and very little return. We now have 3 main breeds that we keep and show.
Thrianta we will never give this breed up it is our favourite.
The Rex in standard and mini but now we only keep orange.
We will be keeping Argente Champagne and Noir.
One last thing show rabbits are not bought just anywhere, as we learnt from experience.
Before you make your purchase think about;
1) Carefully consider your breed
2) Seek out a recognised breeder of your chosen breed that shows those rabbits.
(Unfortunately not all breeders show; so there may be flaws in buying from any breeder.)
3) Never be afraid to ask advice from anyone in the fancy.
If you are in doubt or cannot find a breeder of show quality go to the British Rabbit Council website. You will find a list of breeders there.

2010
As many of you know this has not a good year for us. Dizzy had a bad fall early in the year which almost resulted in us giving up the fancy.
I did sell off nearly all our rabbits including my beloved Thriantas but towards the end of July Dizzy started to get more mobile so we started again. Having just read my 2008 statement I wish I had read it before we started . Yes you guessed it off we went buying rabbits willy nilly again. Getting Thriantas proved extremely difficult surprising how that was as we had let all our top stock go. Still never mind we got hold of some rubbish and started again if I did it once I can do it again. We also decicided to keep Silverfox and Alaska rabbits. Our mini breeds were Netherland dwarf and lop.
Once we started to show we realised that we had made a huge mistake with the stock I let go and was getting nowhere fast. However we had light atthe end of the tunnel as whilst showing in Dorchester at the agricultural show we made reserve best in show with a silver fox. We thought we had arrived.
At Christmas my friend Nick Austin gave me a REW Netherland dwarf for a present she was lovely and I had high hopes for her in the coming year. We will have to see meanwhile I am trying to get my Ivory Satins right as well as my Alaska rabbits 2011 is looking bright for us fingers crossed.
I am writing this in August however I may update later in the year. So much has happened this year it is hard to know where to start.
Firstly it was a hard year as I lost my dear friend Nick Austin to a pulmanary illness.
He was our new guiding light and we fell apart with rabbits after that. Anyway we had to move on if you remember he gave us a wonderful doe we spent a long time trying to find the right buck but eventually we did. Whilst attending the Frome show earlier in the year Mrs cakebread had one for sale and it was top drawer so we bought him. Then woe he would not eat the food that came with him he would not eat anything he lost weight like you would not believe finally with a lot of coaxing we managed to get him to eat herbs garden greenery and hay but from 2lb 8oz he dropped to 1lb 13oz. However after a while he started to eat again and then put on weight he now ways 2lb 7oz and holding steady so we mated him to our lovely doe. Result 6 kits 4 of which are good 2 are going on to become contenders I think. Ok moving on we bought some imported Satins hoping to improve our coats and thicken them up. Another disaster and waste of money. Friends have just been round to our stud and have helped us to see where we are going wrong. It is easier to say what we were doing right we have good quality Ivory Satins and Nethie dwarfs also our Thriantas are getting there again. Silver fox kits we have a couple that look good. Which leaves us 74 rabbits to sell on. Well that is us up to date again so watch this space.
